1. spring, summer, autumn, or winter?: I grew up in Milwaukee, where the seasons change dramatically: and i love the smell of fall, the leaves changing...and the new wardrobe that comes with the season;)
2. favorite destinations?: I usually like being where i am at the time:) But I love heading to Prague, Tokyo, London, Philly, Brooklyn, and Milwaukee.
3. most treasured possession?: Everything I have I have for a reason: so i guess they are all treasured...but I've had periods of life when I get rid of almost everything.
4. currently reading?: I'm doing research for popomomo's spring 2010 season, so I'm reading about the Russian Avant Garde.
5. favorite design found in nature?: Since I moved here from the east coast: I've been fascinated by palm trees: they are so strange. In spring, they drop flowers, and the shapes and textures of the flower stems are crazy!
6. 3 things you can't live without?: My boyfriend/fiance person: Isaac, oranges and unfortunately, the internet.
7. favorite beverage?: Water, wine, coffee and (sorry Deana: I know I should listen to you, but...!) diet coke. I am uncertain if there are actually other beverages out there.
8. favorite plant or flower?: I like the smell of hyacinths in spring: but otherwise I'm pretty equal opportunity.
9. top 3 films?: The Long Goodbye: combines my love of Elliot Gould, detectives, LA film noir and the 60s counterculture. Afterlife: a gorgeously shot Japanese film that is about small moments, so sad and beautiful. A Little Romance: Diane Lane as a super precoscious young girl in Paris negotiating adult situations.
10. current obsessions?: Tie-dyeing vintage silk tanks, my vintage Justin equestrain boots, Avant garde art and photography in Russia/Eastern Europe, old Nancy Drew books (from popomomo's fall inspiration) and getting a puppy.
11. 1st celebrity crush?: Wow. Okay: so I was strangely attracted to Tommy Lee Jones in The Fugitive. And then, completely crazed over Keanu Reeves in Speed. These crushes are insane to me: because I would probably be among the least likely people to actually date a strong, silent...cop.
12. most inspired by?: The world around me: I get inspired as much from the New York Times as I do going to art shows or riding my bike around east LA.
13. favorite cause?: I'm trying to be really more and more personally eco-friendly. We can all pat ourselves on the back with how much we do: but I'm trying to really continue doing my research, making improvements, and making it personal. We just switched from Bio-diesel to recycling waste veggie oil from a great restaurant near our house that we can walk to, support the owner and not create more waste. I want to continue integrating small change.
